'Nowadays, we can no longer imagine a design-world without IXXI; and I love this design! There are more and more IXXI’s hanging in the trendiest living rooms. You see them in all sorts of prints and colours. Until recently, I had not discovered my favourite IXXI yet. I had seen various different designs from others, but I was looking for something somewhat different. That was until my mother told me about this amazing vintage pastel-coloured IXXI she noticed in a shop. She initially spotted it for herself, however, with my love for vintage I was very curious and immediately went to check it out myself. I was not disappointed; my mother was completely right!
The name ‘sweet-poetry’ really says it all. A pastel-coloured IXXI with various cute poetry-album like images. It is the perfect description for this beautiful IXXI. We could use something new above our dining table. Until recently, there was nothing hanging there out of fear for holes in the wall. IXXI found an amazing solution for this: you just attach it tot he wall with power-strips; no need for drilling holes. My IXXI consists of 36 separate cards of 20 by 20 cm. It enabled me to chose my favourite images and create any size I liked; I could completely customize it to my liking. I opted with a rectangular shape with the longest side facing downwards. It is great that I can keep switching around with the design!
The colours are a perfect fit with my interior; a lot of pink with some yellow accents. To top it all of our gravel-green wall is also reflected in the colour pallet of our IXXI. It enables me to go various different directions when it comes to colours I use in my home. As long as they are reflected in the IXXI it is a match!
Personally I feel as though the IXXI has really added to my dining room. Naturally, I also took into consideration the man of the house, who – to my surprise – is a big fan of our new acquisition as well. Of course the IXXI has a very ‘sweet’ feel to it, which I try to compensate with some somewhat sturdier colours and items. As an example, I recently sprayed an Eames replica in a sturdy green colour. The ‘sweet-pink’ and ‘sturdy-green’ are a great combination, especially combined with our IXXI!
